Does this work with Tenders?
No. Automatically triggered negotiations are designed specifically for RFQs.
Why RFQs only?
RFQs follow a simpler flow that's well-suited for automation:
flowchart LR
A[Initial Bids] --> B{BAFO Round?}
B -.->|Optional| C[BAFO]
B -->|Skip| D[Award]
C --> DThe automatic triggering automates the decision of whether to open that single BAFO round.
Tenders have a more complex flow
Tenders support multiple bidding rounds with iterative negotiations:
flowchart LR
A[Initial Proposals] --> B[Evaluate]
B --> C{Another Round?}
C -->|Yes| D[Provide Feedback]
D --> E[Revised Proposals]
E --> B
C -->|No| F[Award]Each round requires strategic decisions about:
- Which suppliers to advance
- What feedback to provide
- Whether to request revised proposals
- How to weight technical vs. commercial factors
These decisions benefit from human judgment and aren't suited for full automation.
For Tenders, negotiation rounds are managed manually as part of the multi-round negotiation process.
